Retirement Freedom

Throughout our growing years we first dream of growing up and freedom. Our thoughts drift into the fantasy of leaving home looking forward to the freedom from being told what to do, how to behave, how to dress and how to treat others. We always thought  life would be better if we left, no worries.

Comes the day to say goodbye to our parents, friends and neighborhood with great joy mixed with sadness not knowing what lays ahead. Hopefully we thought of everything… Where to go, where to live and most of all how to survive.

Some succeeded beyond their dreams with perfect planning or just achieved their goals through blind luck, some just  seemed to eke out a meager living just enough to survive (some happy some not) and those others who thought they knew it all and didn’t have to live by the rules of life fell into bad times drinking, drugs, crime and death.

The lessons here are: Be careful what you wish for. Life is not always a bowl of cherries. Surround yourself with successful people. Choose your friends wisely and most of all don’t lose your identity. The choice is yours. Stay close to family.
